Millie and the Lords is a story of Milagros Baez, a Puerto Rican woman in Spanish Harlem whose life is transformed when she discovers the Young Lords Party. Incorporating original presentations from the founding members of the Young Lords party with a deeply emotional story written by Jennica Carmona, Millie and the Lords is an inspiring motion picture about one woman’s journey from isolation and helplessness to strength and power. Millie and the Lords incorporates documentary material and inventive cinematography that horns the legacy of the Young Lords Party, a Puerto Rican Revolutionary group that fought for civil rights for Puerto Ricans during the 60s and 70s.
