Sage Love, currently studying film at the School of Visual Arts, is a published writer, director, producer and photographer who has produced and directed numerous short films over the past five years. Love creates films that challenge social norms and brings awareness to urban black communities; telling their stories with authentic representations. In the aftermath of the George Zimmerman trial in 2013, where Zimmerman was found not guilty of shooting unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, Love channeled all of his emotions to produced the film HOODY: The Trayvon Martin Experience . ‘HOODY’ was screened at 14 film festivals in the U.S. and had an international premiere in Finland where the film won both the Audience and People s Choice awards.
