Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Danielle Russell is the Filmmaker behind This City of Mine. Danielle has written, directed and produced several short films and documentaries that have been screened locally in Jamaica and internationally at places such as the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, the Transoceanic Visual Exchange in Melbourne and the Caribbean Film Festival in China. Danielle has also participated in several developmental programs such as the 2017 Jamaica Film and Television Association (JAFTA) Propella program, a competitive Script to Screen development program and the British Council’s Film Lab. She has also participated in events geared at strengthening the capacities of creative and cultural industries. Danielle holds an M.F.A. in Film and Radio Production from the Communication University of China, Beijing and a B.A. in Media and Communication from the Caribbean School of Media and Communication, University of the West Indies, Mona. She currently lives in Kingston where she is developing her first feature film.
